Things I'm Loving

1. Too Faced Melted Matte liquid lipstick in Lady Balls

So, I fell in love with another red lip color. My lovely friend Hannah knows me so well and sent me quite a few lip colors for Christmas (ugh, I'm still gushing over them) and this was the first I wanted to test out immediately. I'm always looking out to try new liquid lipsticks and this one from Too Faced was one that I had seen through my strolls through Sephora. I like the regular Too Faced Melted liquid lipsticks, so the whole matte aspect is always intriguing to me. I love myself some matte lips!

Guys. Guys. I wore this liquid lipstick for over twelve hours without reapplying. I had a latte at work, I ate potatoes and green beans for dinner. I was talking at work and drinking water and wasn't just sitting around still all day. Through all of this, the first sign of wear didn't happen until around six in the evening after I had eaten some of my dinner. Even then, it was just directly in the center of my lips. That means, for about eight hours at that point, my lip color didn't budge. The only thing that happened was when I was drinking my coffee, a small bit transferred onto my chin, and even then, I put some concealer over it and it didn't happen a second time.

I'm so impressed by this formula. It's matte, but not drying. It's not tacky at all and it doesn't slip or slide around my lips. And it might be one of the first liquid lipsticks I've used that doesn't give me that gross ring around the inside of my lips. This one is a major win for me and I really would love to try out more colors.

2. Steve Madden pink velvet booties (similar here)

I did it, I finally got a pair of statement booties and pink velvet ones to boot. I've been telling myself for a while that I need some new boots to spice up my plain outfits. So, naturally, I went straight for the light pink velvet booties that I spotted at the Steve Madden outlet last week. Steve Madden shoes are some of the only shoes that are comfortable right off the get go for me. The one thing I will say is that I sized up in these boots because the size 9s were just a little too tight on me. And since they're not leather, they weren't going to stretch or give as I wore them. These have a great, comfortable heel height and the arch is really great to wear for a day at work. Plus, they're just fun!

3. All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

I don't have a picture of this book mostly because I read it in one sitting when I was at home and left it there to avoid clutter in my apartment. And also since I'm incapable of properly talking about books, I will say that this book made me cry for like twenty minutes straight and also hurt my heart a lot. Jennifer Niven wrote 360+ pages and I'm going to write a paragraph in incomprehensible and mediocre sentences about all of the feelings this book gave me. I don' know how to talk about it without talking about the ending because I never learned how to properly describe things without digressing about ten times and spoiling things. So, I guess trust me? But also maybe Google this book before you pick it up because it might have some triggering themes. Better to be safe than sorry!

What have you been loving lately?

  1. Ugh I love those Steve Madden boots! And that's crazy how long the Too Faced lipstick lasted on you – I have it in Candy Cane and it rubs off on everything within a few hours haha!
