Making the Move to NYC

It took everything in me not to be my prime basic self and title this post Welcome to New York. I blame growing up listening to Taylor Swift for making me a total nerd when it comes to this kind of stuff. I have a whole playlist of New York themed songs (really, what more would you expect from me?) that could've made the cut, but this is what I settled with to announce my news that isn't really news considering it's about all I've talked about for the past two weeks at this point. I can't help it, it's pretty damn exciting if I do say so myself.

I talked about changes happening to my blog a couple of weeks ago in anticipation (see: purely hoping that something was going to work out without actually knowing if it was or not) of this happening and then it happened and now it's time to talk about it on the blog! I've talked about it on social media so if you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you've known for a couple of weeks now that I'm moving to New York City. Literally, uh, this week on Friday. Crazy stuff, am I right?
My video on Saturday was a chatty get ready with me video talking about the move, which I'll embed at the end of this post for your viewing pleasure. Really, it's just eighteen minutes of me rambling about the very few details I know about my move thus far. I really don't know a whole lot about where I'm living and all of the, uh, important logistics of my life, but hey, I'm still moving and that's all that matters!

In the midst of all of the hecticness that I'm sure is going to ensue from this week on, I've also decided to amend my posting schedule a bit. Starting this week and indefinitely, I'm going to switch to posts three days a week just for a more manageable schedule while I settle in and get my life on track. I'm assuming I'll post Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays with new videos either on Saturday or Sunday if I have time to film that week. My main priority is to, um, do my job and find a place to live so videos might have a spot on the back burner temporarily while I figure out those things!

In my video (and also in an Instagram poll from a couple of weeks ago that got a really great response), I asked if anyone would be interested in content centered around moving, so I figured I'd extend that question to my blog because it's my ~ main platform ~ and it's where I'd probably be posting the most information. I have some posts outlined briefly, but I think mostly every other idea I have would come after I sort out some of the bigger details, finding a place to live, furniture shopping, packing, etc. It's all stuff I have to do regardless, but if anyone was curious about the moving process, I'm down to talk about it...after it happens, of course. Right now I can just write a post about what not to do when you only have two weeks left at home, which is do nothing and wait until the last minute to do everything that you should have done the week before.

In the meantime, I'm sure I'll attempt to post things on Instagram Stories (follow me @francescapauline, because I love shameless self-promotion) this week and I really want to sort out how to do vlogs for my YouTube channel, I just don't have a suitable camera and am probably not going to upgrade my iPhone before I leave because (1) expensive???? and (2) I'd have to buy new accessories for it so like...double expensive. The front facing camera of my iPhone literally makes it look like I'm using a potato to film, so that's something I'd like to avoid making people look at for extended periods of time.

Now we've gotten to the portion of the post where I really start to lose the plot and start rambling just because I can. Seriously, if you are for any reason curious about anything about this move, I'll talk about it somewhere, somehow, whether it's a blog post, Instagram Story, video, or a tattoo on my forehead. Just kidding.

So...yes, that's what is going on in my life at the moment. It was many, many months in the making (years, honestly, if you count the inception of my living in New York City dream which happened at some point in elementary school, I'm certain) and it's finally here!! I'll see you guys on Wednesday for a new post about something that I forgot at the moment because my blogging agenda is across my room in a drawer.
