Is It Warm Enough For Ya? | An October Playlist

It genuinely took a lot in me not to (a) name this playlist after a Niall Horan lyric and (b) not include the entirety of Niall Horan's debut solo album Flicker (stream it on Spotify, y'all). I'm actually seeing him today. Well, not today as in the day that I'm writing this blog post because this is pre-written so I don't have to bring my laptop with me on my mini trip to New York City. But today, on Halloween, I will be bopping around with Niall and fellow fans, so you know, that's pretty fun.

I digress, October has been a weird mix of songs. I've been listening to a lot of full albums because of my long trips this month. This playlist is a bit shorter (if you don't include all of the Niall) and reflects the lack of time I've had to listen to new music. I don't like when I don't feel like I'm finding new people to listen to, so hopefully I start getting back into my Spotify Discover playlists and searching around for some new tunes. For now though, I've been listening to a lot of more chill music. This is pretty typical for this time of year. I start to listen to more acoustic, stripped down, and singer-songwriter tunes. They feel oddly reflective of the fall season and just really serve as a great autumn soundtrack.

After hearing tons about SZA, I got a chance to listen to a few tunes and "Drew Barrymore" stood out to me both in sound and because I personally love the real life Drew. Haim also released their cover of "That Don't Impress Me Much," originally sung by the legendary Shania Twain. This song is just such a tune and just exudes sass. I adore it to pieces and the Haim sisters are just three cool ass chicks.

Both Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson all dropped new music this month. Even Harry had a few Spotify Sessions up this month. I'm contractually obligated to bring them up on this blog a few times a week, sorry y'all. That is absolutely a joke but I don't find any need to not talk about the things that I like the most in this world. Therefore, I can and will never stop talking about them, coffee, or lipstick.

What have you been listening to this month?
