California Food Tour

Since I couldn't eat the complimentary breakfast at the Holiday Inn Express for every meal of the day, it's fair to say that I enjoyed my fair bit of food while I was in California. I should have probably been a little more concerned about fitting into my bridesmaid dress at the end of the week, but I had a little bit of wiggle room in there, it was fine.

I've seen so many restaurants over the course of the past few years that have popped up in LA vloggers' videos that have sounded so delicious and yet when it came down to it, I forgot them all. I nearly forgot Lemonade existed until I saw a girl carrying a cup in Manhattan Beach on the way back to the car so I could go to LAX. Lo and behold, there was a Lemonade right near my gate so my dreams of trying Alfred, Lemonade, and In-N-Out finally came true. Oops, spoiler alert, I guess? I mean, it's just food, not the plot of the next Star Wars film.

What: Alfred Coffee
Where:  490 N Beverly Dr, Beverly Hills, CA 90210
(has multiple locations)
What to drink: Cold brew coffee

What: Via Alloro
Where: 301 N Canon Dr, Beverly Hills, CA 90210
What to eat: Cacio e Pepe

What: Finney's Crafthouse & Kitchen
Where:  982 S Westlake Blvd #2, Thousand Oaks, CA 91361
What to drink: Raspberry Smash
What to eat: French & Sweet Potato Fries, salads, flatbreads

I would've taken pictures of the food, but this is where the bridal shower was held and I was around a bunch of strangers who I didn't want to scare off with my obsessive need to take pictures of all food before it has been eaten. "It's for me blog!" I cry, every single time.

What: Perch
Where: 448 S Hill St, Los Angeles, CA 90013
What to eat: Gnocchi

We went at nighttime and I wasn't able to get any good pictures of Perch or the atmosphere, but trust me when I say it was absolutely gorgeous. Don't come too hungry though, the plates are quite small. Definitely perfect for a girls night out!

What: Tacos Tumbras A Tomas
Where:  317 S Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90013
(Inside Grand Central Market)
What to eat: Carne & Pollo tacos

What: In-N-Out
Where: Oceanside (has multiple locations...duh)
What to eat: Hamburger, obvs

Y'all, I HAD TO DO IT. How could I go to Los Angeles and not get In-N-Out? It'd be an absolute sin. I did only get a hamburger though because I wasn't in the mood for french fries. Sorry to my animal style french fry lovers out there! I didn't mean to let you down!

What: Breakfast Club Diner
Where: 228 N Coast Hwy, Oceanside, CA 92054
What to eat: Flapjacks, hashbrowns, bacon, scrambled eggs

Full disclosure, the totally 80s decor was cute and the menu was huge, but the service was a bit...slow. I normally don't complain about that sort of stuff because it's not my thing, but I'm just going to be honest here. However, the hashbrowns and pancakes were the bomb dot com.

What: The Funnel House
Where:  205 Main St, Huntington Beach, CA 92648
(also has location in Long Beach)
What to get: Funnel cake
(My friend confirmed that the churros are also amazing)

What: Shark's Cove
Where: 309 Manhattan Beach Blvd, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266
What to eat: Chips, salsa and guacamole and the Teriyaki Burger
What to look out for: Happy hour and daily specials

What: Lemonade
Where: LAX
(has multiple locations)
What to drink: Cucumber Mint Lemonade

    1. There were SO many options LA, it was nuts! Everything is so spread out or else I would've tried to hit up more places that I've seen countless times on LA vloggers' videos. I could've eaten at Grand Central Market for hours.

    1. OMG URTH, I FORGOT ABOUT URTH. I wish I would've gotten food at Lemonade, but it was just a small airport version and I wasn't hungry. Such a bummer. Guess I just have to go back!
