Things I'm Loving

1. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, season two

I meant to mention this during my last Things I'm Loving post, but I completely forgot because that's just how I am. I forget things if I don't write them down. I digress, I watched this whole season during a twenty-four hour period two weekends ago and I don't regret this life choice in the slightest. I binge watched the entire first season in one day last semester. It was a Friday night, I had nothing to do, and I just didn't leave bed for hours upon hours. This binge-watch was a bit different. I did three episodes here, three episodes there, and then finished it in one big viewing session Sunday night. I had to watch it between seasons of Gilmore Girls (between season two and three, arguably the best two seasons) and honestly, it was a good gap filler.

Season two was filled with just as much wacky moments as the first season. Kimmy and Titus were eccentric as ever. Lillian cracked me up more than I'd like to admit. Jacqueline had me rolling on the floor, especially with the invisible chairs and the $30,000 rug that nobody could touch. All around, just another incredible season that I blew through too fast. Now I must wait...

2. Begin Again

I remember wanting to see this movie so bad when I first saw that it existed, but I never got to it. I never get to it. I'm the worst, okay? The absolute worst. Last night I went to go onto Netflix to watch Gilmore Girls, of course, and what did I see in the new arrivals section other than this movie. I squealed. I flailed. I nearly lost my laptop in the process, but it seemed like the only appropriate reaction to a movie starring the two hotties Mark Ruffalo and Adam Levine. Little did I know, James Corden also played his part and truly, it was a party in my bedroom.

Basically, this is a movie about a heartbroken occasional singer/songwriter (Kiera Knightley) who teams up with a washed up producer (Mark Ruffalo) after he sees her perform a song at an open mic, unsuccessfully in her opinion. After not receiving backing from his old record company, they decide to embark on the recording process together, using New York City as their soundscape. It's incredible, truly. The soundtrack is great, the music scenes are great. I really enjoyed the movie. It's told a bit choppy towards the beginning, but I really like that you can get the opening scene told in a few different ways. The storytelling is a bit choppier as opposed to chronological or lineal, but it works.

3. Trader Joe's K-Cups

Have I talked about these before? I probably have. I talk about Trader Joe's all the time, but I can't help it. I'm a Trader Joe's Hoe and I'm proud of it. There's not a whole lot I can say about these as I know nothing about coffee aside from the fact that I need it to stay alive, but these K-Cups are pretty inexpensive and taste awesome. Give 'em a try if you're in need of a new coffee!

4. Mandarin Orange Chicken from Trader Joe's

Damn Franiel, back at it again two seconds later with more Trader Joe's nonsense. Look, I am a picky eater. So, so picky. It's really difficult to find things that I like and then when I find them, I eat them obsessively until I get sick of them. So I'm sure in a few months time, I won't find these as delicious and I've found them the past three weeks, but I think I'm in a pretty good position to rave about this. Go to the freezer section at Trader Joe's, go near the rices, reach in, grab a bag of the Mandarin Orange Chicken. Maybe get a vegetable fried rice while you're at it. Don't question it, just do it. The combination of these two things together makes for the most wonderful dinner ever and it takes zero effort.

All I do it pre-heat the oven. Maybe I'll watch some Netflix or Youtube while that's happening. You put the chicken pieces in for 18 minutes. I start cooking the rice when there's about 7 minutes left for the chicken to cook. When the chicken is done, I put it in a container, drizzle the orange sauce over it and shake it up. I put it on a plate, the rice in a bowl and I GO TO TOWN. It's so easy, even a Francesca can do it. Easy and delicious and such a fun little dinner.

5. Orange Lipsticks

Speaking of orange....I've truly been enjoying my orange-y red lipsticks lately. I haven't made the jump to get a true orange lipstick yet, but at this point, it's going to be inevitable (I'm thinking MAC's Morange...). However, over the course of the past two weeks, I've been wearing my four orange-y red shades a lot. Right now, I have NARS Heat Wave, Revlon Siren, NYX Morocco, and YSL Extreme Coral (I find that it's way more orange than pink). I'm a huge fan of red lipsticks, but I like switching it up a bit as the weather starts to warm up. Orange-y reds are my favorite way to still wear a red lip without it looking too wintery or romantic!
