It's New York Baby, Always Jacked Up

That is a Harry Styles lyric, in case you haven't heard "Kiwi" from his debut self-titled albumDon't do drugs, kids. And now that we're off to a really strange start to today's blog post...I saw Harry Styles yesterday. But more importantly, FRIENDS! (But also Harry Styles).

I feel like there has to be something weather-centric in these blog posts given how bizarre and jumpy the weather has been lately. It was beautiful yesterday. B-e-a-utiful, if I'm trying to be Steve Carey a-la Bruce Almighty. That is probably the first and last time I will ever mention that movie on my blog, but I guess *Justin Bieber voice* never say never. Where was I? Weather, right. It was beautiful yesterday, just super windy so I didn't even bother curling my hair. I just let the wind which it around and make my hair stick straight and so matted that I decided for today (Friday) that I needed fresh hair instead of second-day hair. Mer mer mer.

I remember when I first started coming to New York, I always wanted to spend every single second of every single day outside, out and about, never sitting at home to kill time. I think it's because I never knew when I was coming back because I was young and had high school and sports, then I had college and work, and now I have *Shawn Mendes voice* nothing holdin' me back. (Sidenote: take a shot every time I make a music reference)

I gotta admit, it felt nice not rushing to go out yesterday morning. I mean, today I don't really plan on doing too much because, quite frankly, I'm a little excited to just sit back and relax. I might just hang around Chelsea, we'll see. But this post is about yesterday and yesterday was very lovely!

The morning started off with a bagel from my fave place right around the corner from where I'm staying. New York bagels...they have my heart and soul. I could easily eat one every single day, if not multiple times a day. #CarbsOnCarbsOnCarbs, am I right? After chugging my iced coffee and scarfing down most of this bagel, my friend Maddie (you'll see her later!!) and I headed to Central Park West so she could meet up with family. I planned on reading in Central Park until I got a text from two of my pals Ally and Nathalie (HI NAT!!!!) asking if I wanted to go to brunch in Little Italy. Since I'm a binch who likes brunch and also friend time, it was a win-win situation.

We ended up taking the Staten Island Ferry to catch a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty and immediately did a u-turn to come back to Manhattan. After a 30-minute delay and taking staged Instagrams on my pants and book, we headed to Little Italy to get a late brunch/early dinner at Egg Shop, which was just as delightful as I imagined it would be.

It was the perfect precursor to the Harry show and I'm a big believer that breakfast food is just the happiest food out there. Come to think of it, I consumed only breakfast food yesterday, so you go @ self. And now that I've gone on a food-related rant...I've lost my train of thought.

I don't even know if I can comprehend last night's concert, so I'm not even going to try. I did meet Matt Bellassai and it was A Moment™ y'all. All I have to say about the show are these five things:

1. Muna is an amazing band and if you haven't listened to their debut album, you should probably go do that now because you're missing out!

2. I think Harry's stylist has finally gotten him suits that fit him, but I'm not holding my breath. We could easily go back to jackets two sizes too big and diaper pants.

3. "What Makes You Beautiful" is still one of my favorite songs all time and I appreciate it in all of its forms.

4. Harry Styles fans are some of the most fashionable and beautiful people that I have seen in my entire life. Not to be superficial, but everyone looked gorgeous yesterday and there were from #Fire outfits.

5. Harry Styles is one of the most extra human beings in the entire world. Stopping the first performance of "Kiwi" because we weren't loud enough and then playing it in full for a second time as an encore to try to convince his label to make it the next single.
