Things I'm Loving

1. HONNE

I had a HONNE song featured on my playlist from last month, I believe. It wasn't until the past week or so that I finally delved further into their discography than "Someone That Loves You." The duo formed in the UK in 2014 and released their first full length album just this past July. They're an electronic duo, giving vibes along the lines of LÃ¥psley (give "Love Is Blind" and "Hurt Me" a listen) and Oh Wonder ("Drive" and "Technicolour Beat"). I don't know what it is about the music. It's slick and sensual and just makes you want to sway your hips and sort of lose yourself. I've, oddly enough, found it really relaxing as background music for my assignments. It gets my mind working in a rhythm and isn't overtly "dancey" where I lose my focus.

To listen to: "Warm On A Cold Night," "Someone That Loves You," "Coastal Love," "Good Together," and "The Night."

2. NARS Train Bleu

Well guys, I finally did it. I finally bought this lipstick for myself. After putting it on my birthday and Christmas lists for countless years, I finally put on my big girl pants, geared up and bought it myself. And I most certainly do not regret it. My NARS velvet matte lip pencil in the shade Dragon Girl is my all time favorite color and formula of all time, so it was time to add to that collection. This color is a gorgeous dark aubergine shade, almost bordering on black the more you layer it. It applies smoothly and wears incredibly. I wore it while I was eating and drinking and the only minor wears comes off on the center of the lip, closer to the inside of your lip. All it takes is a quick reapplication to the center of your lips and you're set. And, amazingly enough, it doesn't stain your lips so you do not have to worry about having your lips tinged purple the next day!

3. Stuart Weitzman booties

Shockingly, these are much more comfortable than they might look, what with their super pointed toe and general visual narrowness. These booties, admittedly, make me feel really really cool. Perhaps it's because I can wear them with my DIY ripped jeans that already make me feel like I'm in New York. Couple them with a super sick pair of sleek black booties and I'm in street style heaven. I love styling these with distressed denim. I tend to wear them with cuffed jeans and a more deconstructed top, so there's a juxtaposition between a casual outfit and a pair of sleek booties.

4. Origins Drink Up™ Intensive overnight mask

In my Origins 500-point perk from Sephora, they really did not skimp on the products. One of my favorite bits from that package is this hydrating overnight mask that has made my dry fall skin nonexistent. Seriously. It just packs in moisture and all you have to do it leave it on overnight. It's not heavy, it's not sticky. The smell isn't overbearing and it just feels so smooth. I'm currently breaking out, which means I'm applying my drying topical treatments from the dermatologist to try to get those suckers to disappear. With acne treatment comes dry skin and I just haven't seen any of it since I started using this. I alternate nights, as I don't want to overpower my skin, but the nights I do use it, I always wake up the next morning with hydrated and smooth skin, which I don't even achieve with my normal moisturizer. I highly recommend keeping this one around if you suffer from dry skin during this time of year. It could be an overnight miracle for you!
