Things I'm Loving

1. New music releases

Instead of having three separate songs listed, here I am, just meshing them all into one. It occurred to me when I was writing this post that perhaps it would be a bit irritating to just post about music. But this is going to be a music centric post because a lot of cool music has come out this past week and I haven't really been loving anything new. So.

Listen, it's 2017 and I'm still just as obsessed with Paramore as I was when I was just a mere teenager with terrible teeth and hair and an attitude to match.

My beautiful drenched son...All jokes aside, this song is just so pretty. Honestly, Rolling Stone, hire me. I describe music SO WELL.

If I truly wanted to describe how excited I was got this song, I would probably get a lot of profanity warnings and NSFW alerts on my blog. CAN IT BE SUMMER SO I CAN SWING MY HAIR AROUND AND BOP TO THIS JAM? Can I be the fourth Haim sister? I'm not musically inclined or talented in any way and my hair isn't nearly as long or perfectly tousled, but I feel it in my heart. Doesn't that count?

2. Maybelline Great Lash in Royal Blue

I got this in a VoxBox through Influenster and to be completely honest, this product sucks as an actual top lash mascara. I mean, I hate the black version of this too and would rather wear no mascara at all than wear that. HOWEVER (big however because right now I sound like a big ball of negativity) this mascara is freaking great on the bottom lashes. Just like the name says, it's a gorgeous bright royal blue. Put this stuff on your bottom lashes for a pop of color and your look is totally changed. It's a lot less harsh than black bottom lash mascara and is really just a fun way to incorporate color into your makeup look and switch it up a bit. Plus, this doesn't budge on me. I have an issue with watery eyes (I JUST HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS) and having bottom lash mascaras flake and smudge underneath my eyes and this one doesn't do that to me, which is a feat that only MAC False Lashes has ever successfully accomplished. So, not a great top lash mascara, but as a bottom lash mascara? The bomb.

(Also if you couldn't tell, even if I was sent this product through Influenster my opinions are clearly honest.)

3. "All I Want" by Hunter Plake

Okay, yo, I'm sorry, but if I didn't talk about this song this week then I would completely lose my stuff. Guys, Hunter Plake might just be my favorite contestant on The Voice ever. Put it in writing. It's official. This dude is just so insanely talented and every single week he gets better and better. He's got that Melanie Martinez creativity and obscure enough voice that just makes you want to hear more week after week and then eventually album after album. I think this guy has the talent and innovation to make it to the finals and I really, truly hope he does. I mean, who can sing "All I Want" with this much insane falsetto and power and emotion? I've seen Kodaline sing this song live and I just get that same raw emotion from Hunter, as if he'd written this song himself.

4. NARS Alhambra eyeshadow duo

If you watched beauty YouTubers back in like 2010 or 2011, you'll know this duo. I couldn't get my healthy dose of beauty videos without seeing this eyeshadow duo pop up in every single natural makeup look even if I wanted to. So, I caved. I've had this duo for years and I honestly very rarely use it mostly because I forget that I have it. The packaging is so gross that the black matte exterior now looks like it's a musty brown, but the shadows still remain the same, so I guess that's all that matters!

The duo comes with a rosy pink shade and a light amber gold. Honestly, this duo looks like a sunset on your eyes. Both of these make gorgeous lid colors and all that's left is a brown shade (I use one from an Almay trio for hazels 003, according the back of the package) to be blended into the outer corner and crease and your eye look is complete. I mean, there's a reason everyone and their mothers used this duo back in the day. It's just an easy, go-to duo that makes for the best everyday makeup look that you can throw on in fifteen minutes or less.
