The Great Reading Adventure

Much like my Great Lipstick Adventure from a few weeks ago, I've decided to embark on yet another adventure. This time, however, I decided to make it a little more scholastic and a little less expensive. I have a serious habit of buying too many books when I'm already in the process of reading quite a few books. I'm going to make a conscious effort to read through the books that I already have in my room and then, as a reward for finishing those, I can finally start powering through the rest of my "to read" list that I've been compiling for years now.

Here's the list of books that I currently own and are in desperate need of reading:

1. The Secret Garden by Frances Hodges Burnett
2. The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver
3. Les Misérables by Victor Hugo
4. A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle
5. The House of Spirits by Isabel Allende
6. The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver
7. The Art of Fielding by Chad Barbach
8. Don Quixote by Cervantes
9. Cloud Atlasby David Mitchell
10. Las Valkirias by Paulo Coelho
11. Under Magnolia by Frances Mayes
12. La Isla Bajo El Mar by Isabel Allende
13. The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood
14. Not That Kind of Girl by Lena Dunham
15. To All The Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han

My "to read" list of books that I don't already own is a lot larger than this...and there are so many that I don't even have written down...but these are a good majority books that I'd really like to read at some point:

1. Fairyland by Alysia Abbott
2. The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugendies
3. In Between Days by Andrew Porter
4. Adulting by Kelly Williams Brown
5. Riding In Cars With Boys by Beverly Donato
6. Alice In Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
7. Bel Canto by Ann Patchett
9. Love In The Time of Chloera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez (I'd also like to read the original Spanish version, El Amor En El Tiempo de Colera after reading the English version)
10. Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie
11. Out of Africa by Isak Dinesen
12. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
13. The Secret History by Donna Tartt
14. The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt
15. Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe
16. Alexander McQueen: The Life and the Legacy by Judith Watt
17. The World According to Karl: The Wit and Wisdom of Karl Lagerfeld by Patrick Mauriès and Jean-Christophe Napias
18. Songs of Solomon by Toni Morrison
19. Where'd You Go, Bernadette? by Maria Semple
20. Welcome to the Real World by Laura Berger
21. Making Faces by Amy Harmon
22. Lessons of a Lipstick Queen by Poppy King
23. I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith
24. Daring Greatly by Brene Brown
25. Emily Post's Etiquette by Emily Post
26. The Fashion System by Roland Barthes
27. Nice is Just a Place in France: How to Win at Basically Everything by The Betches
28. The Literary Companion to Fashion by Colin McDowell
29. Adorned in Dreams: Fashion and Modernity by Elizabeth Wilson
30. The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch

32. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
33. Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen
34. A Tale of Two Besties by Sophia Rossi
35. Rules of Seduction by Jenna Mullins

The chances of me getting through all of these are slim, but I'm certainly going to try my hardest!
