Personal Q&A: How to Shop, Favorite 1D Members, and More...

Friday, February 8, 2019

A couple of weeks ago, I asked on stories if anyone had questions for me for a Q&A. I decided to split it up into two sections: personal questions and New York City/careers questions. Today, we're talking about Niall Horan, my siblings, how to shop, and more!

What's one thing you wish everyone knew about you when they met you?

That I'm not as mean as I look! I joke a lot about my resting bitch face, but after years of hearing people think that their first impression of me is something negative before a word leaves my mouth bums me out more than I'd like to admit. Snap judgments are super easy to make, obviously, but I'd like to think that I'm a fairly pleasant person to be around. My eyebrows just make me look aggressive!

Favorite Niall Horan song?

This is an IMPOSSIBLE QUESTION but I'm going to answer it with "On The Loose" when I'm feeling in an upbeat, "I wanna dance" mood and then "Fire Away" for when I'm feeling more chill but also "Since We're Alone" because it's GREAT!

Do you have any siblings and if so, do you get along?

I have two brothers! I'm simultaneously the middle child and oldest child because my older brother is my "half" brother (different moms, same dad), which is a really weird complex to grow up with. I get along with both of my siblings, but I have entirely different relationships with them. My older brother is eighteen (18!!!!!!!!) years older than me while my younger brother is only two and a half years younger than me. My older brother was married and had a kid by the time I was in eighth grade (I was there when my niece was born, I still think I went to school the next day though) so we've always been in different "stages" of our life. We all get along, but my younger brother terrorized me for a lot of our childhood mostly because he thinks it's funny to get a rise out of me. But he also is the same brother that came to New York City for a short two day trip before the Fourth of July so he could drive me back so I didn't have to pay for a bus ticket and who Venmos me money randomly for breakfast or $6 so I can rent Crazy Rich Asians without feeling guilty about spending money.

That was a long, probably complicated answer for a simple question. Yes, my brothers and I get along. :)

If you could only listen to one song ever, what song would it be?

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Well, my favorite song ever is "Konstantine" by Something Corporate and that would be a horribly depressing song to listen to all the time so I'm going to go with "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen because it's happy and fantastic.

When did you first know you were in love with Niall Horan?

WHEN HE FINALLY LET HIS NATURAL HAIR COLOR GROW IN. Kidding. Kind of. I just think he's a very humble, handsome, and talented human being. It started to come out a bit more after One Direction disbanded (or went on hiatus, if we want to go with their words). I would also like to add that I am not actually madly in love with Niall Horan, my fangirl tendencies just tend to come out and I take it and run with it because I find it very funny and entertaining, especially when it concerns my parents very much.

What are the One Direction members from best to worst?

This is easy. Niall and Liam for a tie at first, Louis, then Harry. If we were going to throw Zayn in there, I'd probably pop him before Harry. Much tea, much shade. Just kidding.

How do I shop?

This one was technically just "teach me how to shop" but I changed it a bit. Shopping requires patience and trying things on sometimes. Even if you're an avid online shopper, don't keep things just because you don't feel like returning them because they're going to clutter your life and you're going to think you have more clothing than you actually do and it's going to make you feel incredibly uninspired and cause a lot of "I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR!!!" crises in the morning. Don't buy something if you can't create three outfits in your head with things you already have in your wardrobe. There's nothing worse than planning an outfit with something new around pieces that you don't already have so you end up picking up way more things than you actually need. Also, sometimes you just have to throw up a dozen middle fingers to trends and just buy what you want to wear and what makes you feel like you and comfortable. I don't even just mean physically comfortable but that's important too. Also, don't shop on an empty stomach or after a huge meal. Doing anything hungry will affect your mood but also when you try things on after a huge meal, you're going to be a little bloated and you're going to think everything looks horrible on you. Also don't ask a million people their opinions on something. Choose one person you trust and send it to them. You don't need five people to convince you to buy a shirt. If that's the case, then you shouldn't be buying it.

Well guys, that's it! I have a New York City and career Q&A coming up in a couple of weeks that I'm excited to answer. I'd love to do something like this again, so feel free to DM me questions whenever or keep up with me on Instagram to see if I post the question feature on Stories again.
