June Beauty Favorites

As I skipped Wednesday's post to spend time with family on the holiday (namely, my dogs), it seemed only fit to make today's post a little extra special. So, for one night only, we're welcoming back Friday Favorites to talk about some of my beauty favorites from the month of June.

This also includes my new video which talks about all of my June favorites, including these products.  A double whammy seemed like a good way to make up for skipping missing a day of uploading this week. ;)

The first thing we're going to chat about is the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Soft Light Liquid Highlighter. Say that shit five times fast, you won't be able to do it. I've been using the shade '30' religiously this past month, which is a very light champagne gold that coordinates with my shade of pale I'm dealing with right now. You could very easily just use this what it is in intended for, a liquid highlighter to place on top of your cream products (foundation, concealers, etc) and leave be. However, I like to mix it in with my foundation to place on my cheeks before I set then with powder because I cannot not set my face with powder. It's part of the reason why my makeup lasts so long and I don't need to do touchups. However, even when I do set this combination my skin is still dewy and natural looking, which is all I want in life when I have dry patches all around my mouth from trying to zap away the stress and hormone-induced acne that I'm always trying to fend off.

Next up we're working with the Clarins Water Lip Stain in Red Water. This is just what it sounds like. It's straight up liquid that stains your lips red. It's not as long wearing as a liquid lipstick or matte lipstick, but it is infinitely lighter and more comfortable to wear during those hot and humid summer days, so that's where its advantage comes in. If you want to look like you've been enjoying a cherry popsicle, this product is just for you.

Is it excessive that I have this product in two shades? Probably, but here I am, alternating between the two to make it seem worthwhile. I'm talking about the Guerlain Terracotta Light powders. They claim to be healthy glow vitamin-radiance powders. I don't know anything about vitamin radiance, but my skin looks bronzed as heck when I wear these, which is all my pale ass wants in life. I have the two lightest shades, Light Cool (00) and Light Warm (01). I place them in the spot between my contour and blush just to really embrace summer and try to warm up my skin as much as possible.

Last but not least, this is kind of an...unnecessary beauty product but I love it nonetheless. This is the Diptyque Eau De Sens Hair Mist, which smells like citrus and happiness. It is exactly what it says it is. It's just a mist for your hair so it smells delightful when it blows in the wind. Or, in my case, to stop it smelling like a cocktail of all of the hair products that I desperately spritz into my hair in hopes that it will hold a curl in the intense humidity of the summer. By day three of not washing my hair, it needs a little pick me up in that sense. It's a nice alternative to just spritzing perfume in your hair, especially since I only use rollerballs and I'd waste a lot of product trying to roll that all over my hair.

    1. It's SO nice! I love mixing it in with my foundations but I've seen some of the MUFE makeup artists using it up close and in action and it looks just as gorgeous as a regular highlighter :)

    1. It's such a random favorite but it really does just smell so nice without being too perfume-y! Citrus is such a perfect smell for this time of year too!
