I Second That Emotion | An October Playlist

I would be lying if I said October wasn't a repetitive song month for me. As much as I have listened to some new tunes, I also spent a majority of the month listening to the same few songs and artists on repeat. Case in point: "Body Moves" by DNCE, "This Town" by Niall Horan, "Shout Out To My Ex" by Little Mix, "Too Good" by Drake and Rihanna, and "We Don't Talk Anymore" by Charlie Puth and Selena Gomez have been on my daily playlists the entire month. Seriously. I cannot go a day without listening to one of those songs.

I'm still in my pop music phase, but I'm starting to sprinkle back in that indie and rock music as well, with a tiny hint of some throwback oldies. I've been really into the Frankie Valli-esque music, taking a road trip back to the 60s, the girl groups and Motown, the hits written by my faves Carole King and Gerry Goffin. But with Kings of Leon's new record out, I can't help but dip my toes back into that realm of indie rock. More recently, I've been jamming out to Banks. She gives me seriously cool girl vibes (I've also been walking a lot to "Gemini Feed" and that song just makes me feel like I'm a bada$$ chick on top of the world) and sort of a spooky, witchy sound, which is perfect for this time of year.
