Positivitea Cup Six: Haters Gonna Hate

Taylor Swift sang it right. Sometimes there are just some people in the world who aren't going to love you or what you do or how you act or how you laugh. We all have different opinions, so that's completely normal! There's never any harm in healthy disagreements. But sometimes, I swear, there are just some people who take joy out of hating things and exuding negativity and I just don't see the point in that. It's not cool to hate everything. Maybe you think it is, maybe you thought it was, but it's not cute or quirky or unique. There's no reason to tear down someone else's interest when it's not constructive. It takes a lot of energy to hate something someone likes and be explicitly vocal about it to them.

There's that quote that is usually paired with a really cute watercolor graphic that is something along the lines of "you could be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world and there will still be somebody who doesn't like peaches." If that isn't the truest thing you've ever heard, then I don't know what is. As lovely as it would be for everyone to agree or be neutral on things, but that's not feasible. I mean, there are certainly things that I don't enjoy, but I wouldn't necessarily judge anyone else based on it (I should mention that this is excluding things like politics because that is a whole other can of worms I do not want to open). There should be some sort of mutual understanding that people like what they like and that's that. End of story. No need to taunting or teasing or just down right mean comments.

I have a sparkly card on my desk given to me by a close friend that says "Haters Gonna Hate" in gold glitter and truly, everyone should have this card. Because while it would be great if all of the hate, especially online hate, could disappear, that's not probable. So like the great and oh-so-wise Taylor Swift once said, you just have to shake them off. Don't give them the satisfaction of knowing that it bothered you. Don't dwell on it. Embrace what you enjoy and live your life the same way that you would before. There's no use in letting negativity bring you down. Fight the negativity with positivity and just keep on keeping on, my friends.

  1. Loved this post! Will definitely try making this wonderful card with a nice message. Seems to be quite easy to create. Have to attend a wedding ceremony at one of destination venue Houston TX and will gift such a card to couple.
