Things I'm Loving

1. "Amnesia" by 5 Seconds of Summer

This song has been my life and everything since it came out. It was written by the Madden brothers (helllllo, Good Charlotte anybody? That band was my kryptonite in elementary school) and is absolutely killer in the sense that it seriously makes you want to drown yourself in tears. I emotionally perform this song every night in the shower. No shame.

2. High School Musical

If you weren't aware, Disney Channel showed all 3 HSMs 4th of July weekend. I didn't tape them because 1. I'm 18 2. I'm supposed to be an adult and 3. I've already seen them far too many times.  However, my little cousin taped all three (and hadn't even seen the third one!!!) and while babysitting Monday and Tuesday, we trucked through them all. Say what you will, but those movies were cheesy and beautiful in almost every single way. Zac Efron's bangs and eyebrows…be still my beating heart. If you're bored ever, go on Netflix and watch the original High School Musical. You will not regret it. You will also be surprised that you still know all of the songs and some of the dances.

3. Not wearing makeup

My skin has been going through a good patch. Like, insanely good (knock on wood). I went completely makeup free from Saturday the 5th up until Tuesday the 8th, which doesn't sound like a lot, but this is coming from the girl who wore makeup just to go to Target at 10:30 PM on a weekday. I don't like not wearing foundation in public, but I figured I would give my skin a bit of a break. And now that it's cleared up a bit, I wear less foundation on a day to day basis. It all works out in the end! The cycle can be broken!

4. Hot tea

I drank a lot of tea while I was at school because I didn't have a lot of coffee, besides my nightly venti. Now that I've been at home, I drink coffee in the mornings because my parents leave me some in the pot. Over the past week or so, I've rediscovered my tea collection (that is the only appropriate name for the amount that I have) and have been absolutely loving it.

My favorites? Wegman's Cinnamon tea, Celestial brand Sleepytime Vanilla and Sugar Sleigh Ride.

5. Man Repeller: Seeking Love, Finding Overalls

I obviously adore ManRepeller's blog (it was the first blog blog that I ever started reading religiously!), so it was no surprise that I asked for Leandra's book for my birthday. Ever since, it has been sitting on my bookshelf at home getting no love. I finally picked it up this week and I am so sad that I didn't read it earlier. If you think the blog is funny, you will be cracking up at Leandra's wit and humor. I'm about halfway through now and I am both sad and excited to finish it.

6. Exercising

Yuck, I hate to be one of those people who claims that they "love" exercising. Who likes sweating excessively for a prolonged amount of time? I will be the first to say that I do not. However, I have a trip to the beach coming up and I did notice my J. Crew chino shorts feeling a bit more, er, snug. Me exercising is more for me not wanting to buy new shorts or bathing suits, not for me to look cool on the beach. Lord knows I'm going to have my nose buried in a book the entire time anyways.

I digress, I've been doing some light strengthening exercises daily. I like to do sets of push-ups, crunches, and squats. Then I've been doing some moves from Tone It Up's Sunseeker workout from last summer.
