Grammys Fashion, 2014

I am always sure to warn anybody who follows me on social media to not hate me on the night of the Grammys because I take live tweeting to a whole new level. I can't help it! The Grammys is equivalent to all of my favorite holidays combined into one night. So it should come as no surprise that I am going to do a Red Carpet review of some of my favorite people at the award show last night.

How To Wear Bold Lipstick Without Really Trying

STEP ONE: Pick out bold lipstick, whether it be red, plum, black, purple, or even neon pink.
STEP TWO: Exfoliate your beautiful little lips and apply a lip balm to make sure the lipstick will go on smoothly.
STEP THREE: Apply your lipstick of choice. Use lipliner if you so desire.
STEP FOUR: Go do whatever you need to do for the day. Go shopping, go to class, or stay on the couch all day and watch movies. You don't need to have a certain occasion to wear lipstick.

I'm sick of seeing all of these "Trends Men Hate" articles all over the internet. Many list bold lipstick, or any lip product in general because it will get all over them or whatever bullshit excuse they have. If you want to wear lipstick, you should wear lipstick. Even if every single person in the entire world says that they don't like it, if you can look into your mirror and admit that you look pretty damn fine, then you go out and wear that lipstick loud and proud. You don't need a special occasion to break out a red lipstick, and you don't need to feel insecure about standing out. If somebody is intimated by you because of the color of your lips, then that is their fault.

Wear what you want to wear, not what society dictates. <3

Revlon 'Blackberry' Lipstick

Winter is the time of dark lipstick for me. My typical day goes as such: Pour up (put on lipstick), head shot (put on lipstick), sit down (put on lipstick), stand up (put on lipstick), pass out (put on lipstick), wake up (put on lipstick), faded (put on lipstick), faded (put on lipstick). Or maybe that's just a modified version of a Kendrick Lamar song. Regardless, fall is my time to experiment with new shades and brands. I bought this lipstick at the end of last winter and didn't get that much wear out of it because of that. Alas, the season of dark lipstick has come upon us again and I have brought out one of my personal favorites for the season.

Revlon's 'Blacberry' resembles a deep cherry red more than a dark, vampy purple that the name would otherwise suggest. Oddly enough, another personal favorite from Revlon is called 'Black Cherry' and that color is darker and more purple. Very weird, but the color of Blackberry is still lovely.

This color applies smoothly and opaquely. It gives me great wear, and I'm sure if I wasn't too lazy to put on a lipliner every day, it would last a lot longer and not feather on the edges. If you're on the hunt for a nice winter lipstick that is affordable, definitely check out Revlon at your local drugstore or Target. They have great lipsticks, like Blackberry, for a great price.

What is your favorite lip color for the winter months?

How To Style Chambray Shirts Without Really Trying

So, me being the forgetful and last minute packer that I am deep, deep down, I forgot my nice camera at school in my mad dash to get the hell out of the dorm and make it back home to make it to my concert on time (I was late). I am relying on my iPhone pictures and Instagram to make this post possible, so my apologies for the lack of quality with these photos.

Disclaimer aside, I've been super digging the chambray shirts and have finally started to get some wear out of mine. I bought it over the summer for the sole purpose of a light jacket of sorts for when I went to the beach for vacation. As it turns out, they are incredibly convenient for my lazy days when all I want to do is wear leggings and a chunky infinity scarf. It also turns out to be nice for the days when I just want to add a little casual elegance (oxymorons, for the win). Okay, maybe those were the wrong words, but I feel like the casual fabric with the collar can just add so much to a sweater or even, GASP, a skirt.
